I don't eat turkey, so Thanksgiving is an all starch fest, heavy on dessert. My sister is hosting for the first time and she's feeding thirty of us, so here's my contribution. I used this recipe from Epicurious.com for the filling, and the pate brisee recipe from the Joy of Cooking for the crust. The crust recipe is my old standby from apple pie making, but this is the first pumpkin pie I've ever made.

This little guy is my new Chumby. Check out their website, they explain what he is much better than I could. Currently he's living on my nightstand and showing off flickr pics, a couple of blog feeds, webcams for Shamu (!), polar bears, and pandas, and my daily horoscope. He also wakes me up in the morning. I heart Chumby.
